Deal sign-off, rebuilt

Signers adopt a signature once, initials apply themselves section by section, and the finished agreement is fingerprinted and filed against the deal. It never leaves eBiz, and there is no per-document charge.

eBiz v3.8 is out, and there is a lot in it. This is the biggest piece.

Signers now adopt a signature once, either drawn with a mouse, trackpad or finger, or typed and rendered in a script font. Initials are applied to each section automatically as it is confirmed, and the signature appears on the finished agreement.

If your team has used DocuSign or Adobe Sign, this will feel familiar. The difference is that the agreement never leaves eBiz, and there is no per-document charge.

What it replaced

The old page was legally sound, but it behaved like a web form: initials typed into a box, a name, a position and an IP address kept afterwards.

Nothing about it looked like a contract.

Seeing where an agreement actually is

Each agreement now lists its signers in order and shows when it was sent, opened and signed, so you can see who is actually holding things up instead of guessing.

The sign-off trail for a single agreement Four signers in sequence. The first two were sent, opened and signed within three days. The third opened the agreement on day four and has not signed it six days later, which is holding up the fourth signer, who has not yet been sent it. Fig. 1 Signers are sequential, so a stalled signer holds up everyone behind them. The trail shows which one, and for how long — the question the old page could not answer.

A new sign-off browser lists every agreement on your site, filtered by active, completed, rejected or expired, and searchable by deal, supplier or reference.

What completion produces

Chasing, when you want it

eBiz can also chase on your behalf, reminding whichever signer is holding things up and closing an agreement left open too long. That is the part most teams currently do by hand, or forget to do at all.

Both are off until you ask. Tell us the intervals you want, and we will agree how to handle anything already in flight before switching them on, so nobody is chased unexpectedly.

It is live now

Open any deal awaiting sign-off to see it, or get in touch and we will walk your team through it.

A note on agreements already signed

Agreements already signed are untouched and remain valid. They will render in the updated layout if reopened, and will not carry a certificate of completion, because the trail behind it did not exist when they were signed.
