Price Movements

Regardless of the industry, keeping on top of cost prices is incredibly important for any business.

When you're dealing with 300+ suppliers/vendors, it can be difficult to keep abreast of price changes, especially in commodity products like copper and lead. In a volatile commodity market a small unnoticed change can have huge consequences to margins and a members bottom line.

One of the advantages of being in a buying group, is that these price changes can be sent to the group, and then distributed to the members when required.

However, a challenge is ensuring the right people, and right companies get the information they need, and aren't swamped with information about products they don't stock.

Our system can help members keep abreast of their current cost prices in the following ways:

  1. A centralised location
Price files can be stored in a single location, and downloaded by the members whenever they need access to them.
  2. Targeted notifications
Users can specify product groups and update types they wish to be notified of, so they only get emailed the information they need and want.
  3. Granular security
Only users with the required access levels get to see the prices, meaning you can be sure that confidential information doesn't get into the wrong hands.
  4. Price expiry dates
Price files (and other documents) can have a start date and an expiry date, so users can have access to upcoming and historic prices. In addition, these are clearly labelled so there is never any confusion about the current price list.

By storing prices in a single location, and notifying people when prices change or are soon to change, you can help members stay profitable and competitive within the marketplace, all whilst ensuring confidentially of information.
